It's after 5am. My sleep is miserably erratic and I was laying in bed watching boring middle of the night tv when I got a craving. Dill Pickles of all things. So I hopped out of bed and headed for the kitchen. Are pickles in the middle of the night a bad thing? The jar was new and never opened so it took a bit to open, but finally satisfied my craving. I ate three midget dills. Wonder if I can finally get to sleep now? I have my doubts!

Overload

I am on computer overload. Took a bit of a break the last couple of days, relaxed, watched some tv and did some much needed household chores.

I work on a computer for work, then come home and log on for personal use. However, there is no one policing my usage, so I have been spending far too much time playing which means I am neglecting my regular household chores. Facebook has got to be the best and worst invention. The best, because I have located long lost friends, but worst because it now wastes too much of my time while I maintain the games I play. I have cut back on the games I play, but still seems to take up too much time. Time to go cold turkey I think.

As for this site..I know I wouldn't spend so much time on the internet if I had someone to spend some time with...so will still be here daily...looking for that special someone.

Still holding out for hope!

Happy pre-turkey day!!

Flooding

Lot's of rain now means lot's of flooding in my area of central Wisconsin. There have been evacuations in some areas. Lot's of road closures due to the flooding along the Wisconsin River.

I am hoping and praying the bridges do not get damaged. And more importantly that the dams hold out. If any of the dams fail, we will be in a world of hurt. Potentially my house could be flooded IF a dam fails as I am not too far off the Wisconsin River.

If you see this, and you live in the area...best wises! Let's all say a prayer!

I am very disheartened! I can't believe so many people lie about anything and everything, just to get what they want. The lie(s) will almost always come out in the end, so why bother?

Recently I have talked to a couple of men who have both lied about their age. Their profile says 40 something, when in actuality they are in their mid to late 60's.

We spend time chatting and trying to make a connection and eventually they tell me the truth. But now I am pissed off that they lied and ruined any chance for anything more. And I am ticked that they wasted my time. The thing is, IF I had known up front their true age and we really hit it off, I might have dated them. Too late now. The trust is gone.

I am very open and honest and expect the same. I wasted a lot of years (a lot!!) on a guy who, in the end, told me he loved me but didn't want me, except on his terms. Perhaps I am overly sensitive because of that, but here I am at 46 and still single. I want to date and have real adult, mature conversation. Leave the game playing to the young and dumb.

I don't know, is it just too much to ask from people on this site for real communication and complete honesty? Apparently so!

Wonderful Day

I had such a wonderful day yesterday! I would love to talk about it here, but, I feel too many people know who I am now, and I don't feel anonymous here anymore. My fault really, for telling too many people who I am and where I work, etc. But also just in meeting and talking to people on this site for the last couple of years, by shear numbers anonymity would be tough to keep especially if you are trying to meet and date real people.

So, I have decided that I will keep coming here, and doing what I always have in trying to meet people and keep up with the connections/friendships I have formed here. But I also need a creative outlet where I can remain anonymous and be able to talk about anything, and not worry whoever is reading it knows me personally. I need a place to go to do that. Does anyone know of any other places where you can just blog anonymously and for free?

Timing

Have you ever met someone who you seemed to really connect with, had great chemistry with, everything is wonderful and falls into place? Well, all except for one thing...TIMING! There is some sort of snag that stops the relationship dead in its tracks. You are left to wonder forever what might have been.

Almost all of my relationships fit that description. They never seem to be able to run it's course. I am left feeling at such a loss, never knowing what might have been and yet yearning for the possibilities.

I don't understand...is it me? Do I choose the wrong guys? We can't help who we fall for or are attracted to. Or should I just keep chalking it up to bad luck or that's life so live with it?

I don't know, sometimes I am sick of trying to meet someone and trying to make it work. On the other hand, I really don't want to be a lonely old maid that no one loves or cares about.

Watermelon May Have Viagra Effect

Watermelon May Have Viagra-Effect

ScienceDaily (July 1, 200 — A cold slice of watermelon has long been a Fourth of July holiday staple. But according to recent studies, the juicy fruit may be better suited for Valentine’s Day. That’s because scientists say watermelon has ingredients that deliver Viagra-like effects to the body’s blood vessels and may even increase libido.
“The more we study watermelons, the more we realize just how amazing a fruit it is in providing natural enhancers to the human body,” said Dr. Bhimu Patil, director of Texas A&M’s Fruit and Vegetable Improvement Center in College Station.
“We’ve always known that watermelon is good for you, but the list of its very important healthful benefits grows longer with each study.”
Beneficial ingredients in watermelon and other fruits and vegetables are known as phyto-nutrients, naturally occurring compounds that are bioactive, or able to react with the human body to trigger healthy reactions, Patil said.
In watermelons, these include lycopene, beta carotene and the rising star among its phyto-nutrients – citrulline – whose beneficial functions are now being unraveled. Among them is the ability to relax blood vessels, much like Viagra does.
Scientists know that when watermelon is consumed, citrulline is converted to arginine through certain enzymes. Arginine is an amino acid that works wonders on the heart and circulation system and maintains a good immune system, Patil said.
“The citrulline-arginine relationship helps heart health, the immune system and may prove to be very helpful for those who suffer from obesity and type 2 diabetes,” said Patil. “Arginine boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, the same basic effect that Viagra has, to treat erectile dysfunction and maybe even prevent it.”
While there are many psychological and physiological problems that can cause impotence, extra nitric oxide could help those who need increased blood flow, which would also help treat angina, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems.
“Watermelon may not be as organ specific as Viagra,” Patil said, “but it’s a great way to relax blood vessels without any drug side-effects.”
The benefits of watermelon don’t end there, he said. Arginine also helps the urea cycle by removing ammonia and other toxic compounds from our bodies.
Citrulline, the precursor to arginine, is found in higher concentrations in the rind of watermelons than the flesh. As the rind is not commonly eaten, two of Patil’s fellow scientists, drs. Steve King and Hae Jeen Bang, are working to breed new varieties with higher concentrations in the flesh.
In addition to the research by Texas A&M, watermelon’s phyto-nutrients are being studied by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service in Lane, Oklahoma.
As an added bonus, these studies have also shown that deep red varieties of watermelon have displaced the tomato as the lycopene king, Patil said. Almost 92 percent of watermelon is water, but the remaining 8 percent is loaded with lycopene, an anti-oxidant that protects the human heart, prostate and skin health.
“Lycopene, which is also found in red grapefruit, was historically thought to exist only in tomatoes,” he said. “But now we know that it’s found in higher concentrations in red watermelon varieties.”
Lycopene, however, is fat-soluble, meaning that it needs certain fats in the blood for better absorption by the body, Patil said.
“Previous tests have shown that lycopene is much better absorbed from tomatoes when mixed in a salad with oily vegetables like avocado or spinach,” Patil said. “That would also apply to the lycopene from watermelon, but I realize mixing watermelon with spinach or avocadoes is a very hard sell.”
No studies have been conducted to determine the timing of the consumption of oily vegetables to improve lycopene absorption, he said.
“One final bit of advice for those Fourth of July watermelons you buy,” Patil said. “They store much better uncut if you leave them at room temperature. Lycopene levels can be maintained even as it sits on your kitchen floor. But once you cut it, refrigerate. And enjoy.”

I have always been a dreamer and most of the time can remember them. Lately I have been having dreams about having sex, but never quite getting to the actual point of penetration. I have been dreaming about men I have dated even from 20 or so years ago. I always seem to wake up just before actual sex begins which is very frustrating in the dream, and in real life, as I wake up very frustrated. I had such a dream last night and the thoughts of it has stayed with me all day.

I don't sleep around....but man I must really need to get laid!! LOL!!

Holy cow did we get hit with some nasty weather yesterday! Knocked out my internet and cable until sometime after 9am this morning.

I am lucky, no trees or branches or any damage for that matter on my property. Alot of others were not so lucky I am sure. I hope you and your property went unscathed as well.

If you know where I work...then one word to describe it is INSANITY!!

I am hoping today will be a much nicer day all the way around!!

I did something a few nights ago I hadn't done in years. I went to a drive in movie. It was a double feature actually. Drive Ins are almost extinct now I think, but found one down in Wisconsin Dells. I was there on a mini vacation with an old friend from high school, strictly platonic. While at the movies, I couldn't help but wish I was with someone I could hold hands with and maybe make out like teenagers. I never did that back in the day and perhaps is why I still love lots of kissing and foreplay.

I hope I can find someone yet this summer who would want to trek to the Dells with me to enjoy an evening just like the good old days!

Evening of Pampering

I am enjoying a nice evening of pampering. It's quite warm out, so thought a nice cool shower would be relaxing. Shaved and painted my toenails a pretty coral color. I smell so nice. Too bad I have no one to feel pretty and sexy for. But at least I am ready for possibilities altho at this moment I am expecting none.

I feel great for a change, and want everyone to feel the same.

Nothing like a night of rest, relaxation and pampering to enable you to feel content.

Now need someone to flirt with....

I about killed myself with overtime last year with most of it occurring over the summer. This year, there is very little overtime, so I have planned to take lots of time off. I have about a week and half off starting early next week.

Last year in May I went to Florida on vacation. This year I have no real plans. It's almost disappointing I am not going anywhere special. I have another 10 days off in June AND July with a couple of 4 day weekends already scheduled for August too.

Having the time off and not having to be at work is a definite plus, but it makes me sad I have no exciting plans for the free time.

I have some projects that need to be done around the house, but don't want to spend all my free time completing chores either.

I wish I had someone to do things with. Life can be very lonely for a single female.
