I had an appointment last week with a back surgeon in Enid. He told me, after looking at my MRI that I have a herniated disc in my lower back between L4 and L5. He said I had options of course.
Option 1: I can take a steroid pack for a week
and have physical therapy done for
the next month and see if that helps.
Option 2: I can have the surgery and PRAY that
it relieves the pressure on the nerve
instead of having the opposite effect
of possibly paralyzing me and causing
further damage to my back.
This is of course a NO BRAINER. I chose OPTION 1. I started taking the pills (thank you GOD they are small pills) yesterday, and I begin physical therapy on Monday morning at 6:30am (not my choice of times but my main boss won't give me a time where I can have off for a solid hour so that I can get to therapy.[/B]

This is for those of you that:
have judged me by my actions and by the words I've written.
have claimed to be my friends but actually doubted me when I was assulted earlier in the fall.
are real friends and have been there for me when I decided to voice the opinions I've had and never held it against me.
are just plain nosey SOB's that take great pleasure in other's pain and misery.
I've been asked why I was writing the blogs and group postings that I've written as of late.
I've been asked why I was pushing people
that were once friends away.
Well, the truth is I thought it was best to push people away because after all no one wants to hear bad news right? You don't want to know that:
your favorite pair of shoes are ruined because I borrowed them and wore them in the mud.

I guess the best way to approach this is to grab the bull by the horns so to say. Yes, it's true that there is something wrong. I won't go into details that I have been told because I don't even understand half of the words or even know how to spell them. Please bare in mind that I have not even told my own family of this as of yet and would appreciate it if anyone that reads this keeps their mouths firmly shut until I decide on the best avenue of how to approach my family with the news.
A while back I wrote a blog on yahoo entitled "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". The day when I wrote it, is the day I got the news that I had approximately 6 months to a year. I was told that I have what appear to be tumors on my brain.
I had tried to email, IM, and call others but could never get any responses back so I had resigned myself to handling all of this on my own with no one knowing or being the wiser and just assuming that I was mad at them or whatever they chose to believe so that I could bow out of this life gracefully. That is until Curious2SeeRU called me to find out what was wrong and I broke down and told her. The only other person I told was Tazzy until about two weeks ago when I heard from Lanie and told her as well.
Yes, I am currently awaiting an appointment for a 2nd opinion which unfortunately won't come until late in the month of February.
There, now you all have my explanation of WHY.

I read Pinkie's post entitled

As of late, not much has brought me pleasure. The truth of the matter is most things in the past month have brought me nothing but heartache and despair. Then, I thought again about things and reflected and realized that with life being as precious as it is and with as little time as there is left on this earth I should try to turn everything I can into something that pleasures me.

time, doing things and enjoying every

tell anyone else (not even family).
4. Breathing in the crisp cool night air

day and evening at work).
5. Watching for falling stars while laying

6. Watching the snow fall and catching
snowflakes on my tongue. Later making
snow angels or building a snowman.

bring.
8. The way the pouring rain feels against

9. How it feels to have all the power and
tell men, that have ignored me almost
their entire lives, NO, I don't want to

things that people have whispered about

the end.
There are more I could list but those are the ones that I think of the most at night when I think of my life and how things have been and the little things that mean so much to me and bring me great pleasure.
