How do you establish & manage a No Strings/FWB relationship?

It's been quite a dry year and that's largely in part to how fucking busy I've been. Working two jobs along with other active hobbies, that doesn't leave a lot of time to build any sort of real relationship. A fact I was aware of and to terms with going into the year, and I'm fine with that trade-off at this point in my life.
All that said, no matter of levelheadedness fixes that fact that I'll still get HORNY AS FUCK. In the past, I've always avoided the prospect of even trying something NSA or FWB out of fear that I'll actually fall for them and ruin the whole arrangement. Things have changed to the point where this is the only thing that makes sense.
I suppose that managing expectations and being up front with what I'm looking for is a great and obvious way to start, but I have NO CLUE as to what to expect or what the etiquette is once I find something that's on the same page.
Any advice is good advice!

For the sake of clarity, the stats I'm talking about are your basic age, height, size type of information, but by all means if you have something else, we'd love to hear about it!!
What's your favorite stat? Like, when it's within a certain number or the right range of something it drives you wild and you must pursue.
What's the most important stat to you? Maybe something you have a hard line on or a certain number that must be fulfilled.

I understand that women get absolutely bombarded on IM and it makes it hard to discern people worth responding to.
Something else to consider is if you do receive an IM from a standard member, they're not someone just casting a wide net, or trying to play some numbers game. There was something specific about you that compelled that person to reach out.
Standards only get three chat invites these days and I know personally, I'd ideally like to use just one.
And this isn't meant to come off as whining or moaning more than I just wanted to highlight the relationship between two sides.

For as long as I've been here, I've tried to initiate IM conversations as politely and respectfully as I can imagine. Chalk it up to the way I was raised. A whole lot of good that's done as I've yet elicit a response.
Does sending something much more straightforward and blunt like "Wanna fuck?" or "Lookin to fuck this week?" actually get a dialogue going? I feel like I may have been super naive about my approach.
I'm not trying to make this sound like sour grapes and I'm sure there are other things I could do to make myself more more inviting, I just wanted to see if my instinct was wrong on this one.
Any advice you have would be welcome!

I want to start posting these so I can get a better understanding of the things I don't do or haven't done yet.
I'm not asking anybody to actually convince me into doing any of the things I'm asking to be "sold on" but I do want to know a little bit of what goes on in the thought process behind doing or liking these things.
So please, sell me on eating an asshole/having it eaten. I know a lot of people love it. Why do you love it? What is it about doing it that turns you on?

How many standard members have actually met someone from here? With Polyamory Date tightening its grip on every aspect of the site, how effective is it to actually have just a standard account? What do you do to get around these roadblocks?
