Weft and warp

Weft and warp
started January 22nd, 2021

The cloth is woven
weft and warp
twigs and twine
bits and pieces
gaps and flaws
make the fabric
of my life.

I try to worry out
the threads that I know
aren't right
the flaws that threaten collapse
yet have become
integral parts
of the weft and warp
that is me.

I smooth this cloth
with my worn hands
then fold it up
and put it away
to work on
another day.

 Don't hide it away
Wear it
Show it off
For it will comfort you
Wrap you like arms
So there's flaws
We all have them

So true! I love analogies, and I adore the thought of wrapping the fabric around me like arms would hold me. I'm always missing touch and looking for comfort. A different perspective. Thank you!

I know. I try to think positive. Read books about happiness and gratitude. I try to do things each day that I know make my days better. But I'll always be a mix of content and searching for something. Hope you find bits of peace today, that make the angst easier to live with. Thank you for reading me and commenting.

Hey Rekha! Glad you found my blog. Thanks for reading my poem! If you scroll down to the poem "His Lips", it's about my first love in India, 35 years ago. Weft and warp
Every day
the bindings tight
weft and warp
draw threads which lay
in a form around myself
the weft and warp of memories
of days past and gone
weft and warp
the shroud to wear
one which shall not tear
when weft and warp
of memories end.
