Who Goes There?

Who is knocking on my door?
Who goes there?
Palatial splendour needlessly obfuscated
To whom shall I contrive this introduction?

Grand Mirror in the chamber, neglected
Of some perturbed nature
Leaking images but abstaining from sweet perfume
O, only my Lust can see me now

Window pane weary of breath
Some exhumed ghost peering in from Void
Alas as the sun lingered in its charms
So as I was deceased as well

The Silent Friend follows as shadow
Somewhat curious as accoutrements are stored
I thirst for those careless hallways
City of the Forgotten Night, I yield

The Ceremony begins with Innocent Moon
She disrobes, satin cloak depriving me of form
Ritual wine from bottles that never cease
How I remember Her as fond as intoxication

Listen---
‘They are only as plain to you as you believe
And yet you fail to grasp this concept’
Why am I imprisoned such thoughts?

Door creaking, the subtle voice of Reason
Is it as black on the Other Side?
The patterns on the floor of crimson<b> cherry
</font></b>Listen again to the beat of archaic licence
