scams and the older guy

I guess an older guy like is honey to the scam flies. So many of them! They're kind of funny in retrospect. "Want to join an orgy club?" Hell yeah, down with that! Who wouldn't be? "Great. You're all set, but one last thing: send us $50 to purchase goodies at the door for all the guests at the orgy pad. We've got to be discrete, so just purchase this easily cashed in coupon and send us the wallet ." Uh huh. $50? Why not £50? I mean, we are both here in the UK aren't we? Aren't we?

Or the Mistress. That one had me going for a while because it unfolded slowly. " looking for a new sub. Want to give it a try. Oh here's a picture of ." Hmm. Never thought about that before. I have lots of fantasies about sex. Love the taste of women; it would be great to have one in my mouth and one on my dick. Never thought about bdsm. But on reflection, yeah, sounds cool. Nothing ventured nothing gained. The of the first session approaches. "Ah, but one last thing. You have to purchase gear. I recommend this place. They know me, a great customer. Tell them my name." Okay, lets send them a message and see what sort of gear we're talking about. Wow! first- leather and metal stuff. And a chair with a neck thingie, so the person sitting in it (me, imagine that) can't move while the mistress tortures me sweetly. Almost a £1k investment though. So I send a message to the shop. A reply is forthcoming, and forthcoming in exactly the same syntax and all the speech mannerisms of my obviously not-a-native-speaker mistress (well, she did send an enticingly exotic picture). That was a bit deflating at the time. Haven't heard from her since I explained my reservations.

So it goes. I've met tons of genuine people, not only scammers. Unfortunately they always are people half way round the world. Oxford to Oklahoma City is a tough date! But chatting is fun, and lots of the very real people like me are into it. So, XMatch: lots of fun, great for the imagination. But not a dating site for getting dates, at least not for an older guy (I know I probably don't like a prize my age, but I think being underestimated).

Scammers will approach anyone regardless of age.

It is just that due to the site numbers declining steadily over the years, only the older generation are left here now as the younger population are all using other phone apps.

I got a message from the U.S. yesterday from a female profile. It began, "Hey handsome!". Yeah, my feet picture is the only one on my profile so I'm calling you out that you didn't even look at my profile. Of course, as a standard member, I couldn't even read the message anyway and it's gone into the bin.

I find it interesting that when it comes to scamming men, a not-a-native-speaker tone is almost de rigueur... but that same tone is a HUGE red flag when attempting to scam women.

Interesting. I was wondering what it was like for women.

Some women say they get scammers, but I've never had one. Well one bloke pretended he was in the UK, when he was from USA, but he was easily sussed out and dismissed.
Remember the old adages, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.. and take everything you see and hear with a large pinch of salt!

I became hip to the scammer trade years ago on conventional dating sites. So it was nothing new when I signed on here. What I've come to realize over the years is that this is really the only site where they're
actually encouraged to ply their trade since the site itself benefits from their presence.

The scams that do the most damage are those who are married or have long time boyfriend/ girlfriends. They post as single and have no intentions of meeting anyone only you'll never hear that from them. They ghost and stand people up and basically give both genders a bad name and create an atmosphere of skepticism and frustration.

Using more than all the road!
