 I think it may be something to do with a leisiurely wake up, and often easily aroused to erection in the morning. I must confess that come bed time, I just want to sleep, other than some mild foreplay, full on sex is not my ideal that late

 Some people will tell you that if a guy or man wakes up with an erection in the morning - it's because he has to pee. Well, it's a known fact - oh, he might have to pee too, but that's not what's causing his erection.

Some men and many younger guys, they wake up in that state because they just got a good shot of testosterone. In fact, this shot of testosterone will likely wake him up. It's also a known fact - as some men age, their level of testosterone may reduce, and if/when this happens - his interest in sex will reduce right along with his reduction of testosterone level.

Give that man a testosterone supplement, and unless something else is wrong too, his interest in sex will magically return, and he will again be like he always was..

You all are on a drug, a chemical, a hormone - and it's called testosterone. And like many other drugs, it can make you do things you might not otherwise do, Why in the morning though? I have no idea, but maybe evolution tuned it like that for a reason. Historically, in human history, in the not too distant past - life wasn't as physically easy as it is today.

Look at even a modern farmer - he starts first thing in the morning, daybreak - he has a lot to fit into his day, and for the most part in past history, a lot more physically demanding work. No tractors, little to no machinery, no cars, no telephone, no air conditioning, and not even a fan - there's no electricity. And oh, if you want lunch or dinner, you need to saw and split some fire wood for your wife's cook stove too.
