The Young Virgin to be Married in Two Weeks I lived on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I went to a show. The band played Lola, by the Kinks........ Drink in one hand. Dancing, and sweating, moving with the beat, like a man possessed....... I am thinking... I hope Cindy comes....... """"""I met her in a club down in North Soho Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola C-O-L-A cola She walked up to me and she asked me to dance I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola" L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola""""""" But, first, I must take you back, twelve hours earlier.... Me, a life guard, is walking on the beach. 4 hotties are on towels. They<b> flirt.. </font></b>I stop. Two go out in the water.....On a pool float. It is early May, the water is cold, there is a strong rip current. The women float out, I watch. They float out farther, I watch. The friends are scared. The women are kicking. Trying to get back to shore. They start to wave. It is clear neither swims well, and... Their kicking keeps them in place... But they make no progress towards the shore.... I enter the water. It is cold, and, there is that strong rip current. It was easy to swim out..... But, getting back.... I reach them, grabbed a rope on the float, told them to kick...Hard. I side-stroked, slow, and steady, to shore. By the time I got them in, We were about a quarter mile north of where we started. This "rescue" had pretty much pressed me to my limit, physically. Both women thanked me profusely.. As we walked back to their towels. Cindy immediately grabbed my hand and held on tight. I had a job..It was now close to time for me to work. We said our good byes and I told them about the club..... I work. Go to the club. Then, as I am dancing, to LOLA, there is Cindy, in front of me.... This is probably the best Rock and Roll dance of my life..... Then, after LOLA, a slow song. Cindy puts her arms around my neck, head on my chest, we dance.... We were inseparable for the next week  In two weeks, she was married...and not to me. |
