From a male perspective

It can be overwhelming to enter the dating world after being off the market for so many years. naturally an introvert and very busy with work and other obligations, so traditional dating would be difficult. That is why the online option appealed to . Being the nerd that I am, I did a little research on the various dating platforms available. Online reviews said Polyamory Date was a good place to start for really anyone on the dating scene because it offered access to people seeking all kinds of relationships from one-night stands to FWB to LTR. Given my own situation and preferences, it sounded like it might be a good place to start also.

Clearly, I signed up because here is my profile and my first blog post.

My experience thus far: disappointing. If I were here looking for porn, sure, this would be an A+ site. But I am here to try and actually meet people--anyone at this point that might actually be interested in me, regardless of the duration of the meeting/friendship that ensues.

The only people on here that I have had any contact with fall into one of three categories: 1) scammers, 2) cam girls, and 3) prostitutes.

Scammers: I'll hand it to some of these scammers because some can be quite convincing, but most are pretty obvious from the first message. My favorites so far are the " a dating security ID so that we can meet" or "get your age verified by so that it will unlock my for you to come meet me." I guess people fall for it or they wouldn't keep trying it. I even enjoy the elaborate stories some of them weave before asking for . Yeah, nobody in their right mind will send to a person they only "met" the day before in an online chatroom.

Cam Girls: not judging their occupation. Believe , many of them are banging , and in my days, I would have loved sitting here for hours watching their performances. I would probably have been stuck to my chair--literally. They're earning a living. It's just not what here for this point in my life. My only beef with many of these cam girls is that they try to lure you in by acting interested in spending time with you. "Hey, watch my cam show and then we can hang ."

prostitutes: Yeah, no. I might be horny, but not desperate or . Sex is one of those things that I refuse to for. I am willing to put in the effort to earn it. is illegal and could not only in legal expenses, but it could ruin my family and career.

Tips, especially for newbies: Don't fall for the scams. There's no such thing as a dating ID or a required age check to go on a date. If you were at a bar, you wouldn't need to verify your age or whip a dating ID in order to leave with someone. If they send you to an external site that asks for info, don't do it. If you're like , around 40 years old, and some smoking 22 year old shows interest of the blue, run her photo through a Google image search. I have had all sorts of models and porn stars apparently interested in . The most recent image searches I ran pulled up MeganQT and Kendra Sunderland.

I am interested in your thoughts. Has anyone had any success actually meeting someone from Polyamory Date in person? Guys--have you run into the same problems that I have? Ladies--What interesting roadblocks do women encounter in the online dating platforms? Thank you for reading my rant.
