Why do women cheat?
Why do women cheat? Do you find that men and women cheat for different reasons? A lot of men are unfaithful because they feel that their sex life has become routine and boring. Sometimes it is because the appeal of another woman feels impossible to resist. Other times, they have started getting the kind of respect from another woman that they no longer get at home. Men are sometimes driven by a desire to conquer. There is an adrenaline rush that comes with a new challenge. Not saying any of these are good excuses for cheating. Just saying that they tend to be reasons that men give. Many times it seems women's reasons tend to be more relational. Her husband doesn't attention or show interest anymore. She doesn't feel cherished like she once did. When she committed to him, she traded the attention of many men for the inattention of one. When discussing reasons for an affair, women often point to the emotional connection and friendship that was created with the other person. These are my observations. Of course there are exceptions. What have you seen or experienced? |

One woman I talked to said that she wouldn't have gotten married if she knew it would ruin the friendship that was there before she married him.

What ever motivates a person is their own affair (!). It will be shaped by their experiences, attitudes, relationship history and the dynamics of their current relationship (or lack of). Why try to generalise?

Careful there, shouldn't place us all in the same basket. No judging here but I was married 37 years and never cheated, nor did he to my knowledge.

maybe women cheat because their husbands are doing the same thing

I'm sure I could never answer as to why anyone cheats. I don't know everyone. That said, I do believe that there are people that will cheat and people that won't. The black and white answer, no grey. My ex wife cheated..I still joke that the only thing we had in common was about every 7 years, we both needed a night out with the guys. I think you summed it up pretty nicely, there is one thing I would like to add, sometimes in relationships the spouse may become ill, or disabled leaving the other partner in need of some sexual attention..

It is basically the role of plants and animals to proliferate their species which includes a few wild seeds being tossed around. Religion taught us to control our breeding instincts

I agree there are many different reasons, and many that you listed are most likely some of the causes. Cheating is never right....but I think cheating just to get back at a cheating spouse or partner would be the worst of them. Just my opinion though. Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL

Also agree that not all cheaters will be repeat offenders, I know that I have learned from my one experience. The man who cheated on me (is the one I cheated with) and he is a "repeat offender" so to speak. My reason for cheating was more along the lines of what Tmptrzz mentioned. No excuses though...it still isn't right. Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL
