Are You a Human Frog?

Why are young people today like frogs who have spent their lives hiding under a coconut shell? Answer:because they're inexperienced & naïve,& find almost everything amazing. (to quote one of their favourite words),just as the frogs do when their coconut shell is taken away. That's why politicians want to give 16-year-olds the vote.
In Malaysia & Indonesia anyone naïve & inexperienced is said to be "Macham katak di-bawah tempurong" - like a frog under a coconut shell. Rubber estates are full of coconut shells, which are halved & used to collect the latex. The rainforest climate is also very damp,so there are plenty of frogs there too. Do you find many ordinary things amazing? Are you easy prey for our lying politicians? If so you could be a frog under a coconut shell, just the sort of person they delight to take advantage of. Read my other blogs & you will get some idea of the things these crooks are trying to hide from us.They almost have to be crooked, because if they always told the truth hardly anyone would vote for them & some of them would be in jail! Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.
The world is of course full of amazing things, but they are mostly things which the average member of the public neither thinks nor cares about. The things they find amazing are usually very mundane & ordinary, rather like the world the frogs see when their coconut shell is removed

Turkeys? I used to haul turkey food and chicken food. I wouldn't eat a turkey.. yuk
turkeys eat ground up chicken parts and chicken eat ground up turkey parts, organic chickens are ok. I lived in the south pacific for years and know about their politics, a good example in the Philippines where I lived for many years.

In England we don't have Thanksgiving,so turkeys are mainly eaten at Christmas.

Regarding minimum age for military service, the youngest RAF pilot to fly bombing missions over Germany was 15,but he lied about his age.The youngest winner of the VC (posthumous) was Jackie Cornwell, aged 16&member of a gun crew, who stayed at his post in spite of being bady wounded at the Battle of Jutland in WW1. Youngsters tend to have a rather romantic idea of war & combat,so the reality comes as a shock to most of them. The younger they are,the more likely their view of war will be naïve & unrealistic. However, some of them make good soldiers.
Audie Murphy was aged 18 or 19 when he became the most decorated soldier in the US Army,& the Hitler Youth were on average aged about 15 in the closing stages of the war,but put up formidable resistance. The policy of the Army at present is not to send soldiers under the age of 18 into combat,a policy I support. What worries me more than underage soldiers is excessive numbers of lady soldiers. They are not given units of their own,but used to water down traditional regiments including the infantry,
The vast majority of lady soldiers, especially lady infantrymen, are only fit for static duties & are incapable of doing the sort of stuff I had to do. Ideally, every soldier should be a fighting soldier,as was the case in the Jap Imperial Army. Cooks, clerks, artillerymen, tank crews etc should be capable of acting as infantry in an emergency, but how can you do that with lady soldiers?

I think the problem is that by saying that your are not an adult until you reach a certain age, you get to act like a child until then. But reaching a certain age doesn't magically make you into a mature adult. Experience makes a person, acting like an immature kid until you reach a certain age won't give you the experience to act like a mature adult.

Please don't let me be misunderstood.
