What.S The Point Of Being A Man... If You Can.T Do This...ðŸĪ”❗

Technology and fancy gadgets have tickled my impressions many times over the decades. But there are glitches in some of those 'new things' out there. The other night SHE popped out, in one of those 'new things' —and froze everything.

Her stylish burgundy car had gridlocked EVERYONE in that parking lot. I was 'jammed,' so I walked to the scene to survey the situation.

The lady with the lifeless car (*and the long legs and tight black skirt*) sat there, her door ajar. I watched as she bent her knees and — with the polish of a Hollywood star — slid out of her leather seat, then planted her stilettos into the white shimmer of those overhead street lights. She slammed her door, hung up her phone, and casually — looked around at ALL of us.

I should have added; I was one person, in a small HERD of men — ready to help. One of us asked her a useful question, "What seems to be the trouble?"

"It's an electric car. It just died. It's completely 'fricken' dead."

We nodded as if we knew what the fuck she was talking about. The mechanic in our group suggested to her that she open the hood and put on the emergency flashers; he'd take a look. It was useless. Nothing worked or even opened, and I mean absolutely NOTHING.

As I turned to walk back to my car, another gallant man moved closer. He blemished the personal space of that ruby-lipped lady and offered HIS professional advice. She waved her arms in the air and smiled.

I started my engine and headed for an escape through a little-known back alley. I also concluded — I'm not ready for an electric vehicle until they get all the bugs out. Flashing lights from a tow truck momentarily blinded me as I paused to let it by. And that herd of men? They lingered; to supervise, I presumed.

.......................

Do they still make them like they used to?

What's the point of being a man if you can't start a car? ðŸ˜Ū❗❗

I'd better hone my other skills, like plumbing and carpentry, and sex.
Damn, I'm screwed!

I've read where women are already replacing men with digital toys and battery-operated playmates. ðŸ˜ģ

Back in the day, if a woman had a problem with her car, men would stop and lend a hand. You know, open the hood and fidget with the carburetor?

These days, I wouldn't have a clue what to do. Would you? ðŸĪ”

Oh yeah, I'd call 'AAA'. (*CAA in Canada*)

I get what you're saying, but even so I have my eye on my next car and it's full electric. It won't be in the US until 2023 - hopefully the bugs are worked out by then.

A Volkswagen van?
Well, THAT'S cool and so cute! And sleeps four? 👍 😊

The thing with cars and me is ; I need gas so that when the apocalypse hits, and the zombies are loose, I want a gas car, NOT electric. There's always an abandoned gas station somewhere. There won't be any power, when the shit will hit the fan. 😎❗

And, I need the sound of a roaring engine; yes, I'm shallow. ðŸ˜ķ❗

I always wondered about what happens when an all electric car dies. I would think there is plenty of warning as far as running out of juice to motor down the road, but what if a capacitor blows? Apparently the best thing to do would be to keep one's road hazard protection up to date. I just hope they are quick enough to save you from a pack of wolves.

Even with an internal combustion engine, cars now days are computer controlled and if it dies, good luck. Crank position sensors, oxygen sensors, fuel injection, all give information to to or receive information from the computer. No input, no output, no go.

Two hundred years ago, land transportation was simple -- on foot or draft animal vehicle, or riding animal.

I am pretty sure that all electric vehicles have a power gauge similar to a fuel gauge in an engine driven vehicle. The driver still needs to keep an eye on the energy left in order to plan on a "fill up". Now if the battery shorted out, that is a different issue.

Unless electric cars are charge with a renewable source, all they do is export the combustion pollutants to the electric plant, at a loss of efficiency for the transmission lines.

I could go back to the transportation of 150 years ago. My horses for local and a train or river boat for distance.

All the lights and gages in the world won't help someone who's ignoring the signs, right? But I agree with you.
I think if you can afford the car, you can probably afford roadside. I hope? ðŸĪ”

Hey, thanks for popping in and sharing your pov; drop by any time. ❗😎
So ya know something about capacitors do ya?
I'll have to brush up! 😊

In my world, digital toys and battery-operated playmates will never replace warm man flesh!

I know how to do that leg swing ... though I'm sure it's not quite as effective as hers.

That's so true about today's gas cars": I'm lost when I open the hood. Well, not entirely; I know where the basics are, but you know what I mean.
Damn, what happened to the simple carburetor; I used to know how to take one of THOSE apart.

That woman in the E-car was clued out.

True, about renewable energy sources. We use hydro here — supposedly renewable.
When the apocalypse hits — we'll still have gas — there will be NO electricity. I'm half-joking about that world crisis, but power is the first thing affected.
I've watched too many movies. *ugh* lol 😂

Yhud was in space and had no idea what that car was all about.
The men were like a flock of ants, trying to pretend to help.
The scene was comical in its attempt to mimic that clichÃР— where that man comes to the aid of a damsel in distress.
I laughed. You might have, as well. Those men were being silly — but they were ALL very polite. ❗😎👍

We can agree to disagree, but I feel like it's much more likely to get juice from a solar panel, windmill, or hydroelectric dam; than from an abandoned gas station that's already been worked over by other desperate people.

I watched an apocalypse movie a couple weeks ago, mainly because it featured an actor I like. What a stinker that movie was - you never found out what actually caused the apocalypse. "How It Ends" - avoid that movie at all costs.

No matter what a woman's transportation [through the centuries], offering help, is greatly about the reward of pussy , or a blowjob.

The nonsense of being polite, is usually a cloak hiding their true goal, but a taught "Cloak".

But what if one of those men, gawking and offering assistance, actually did know what he was doing, and how to fix her broken down vehicle, except he was NOT polite, maybe even a bit grumpy..... but he fixes her car.

The grumpy , not polite man, is more than likely to get some sort of invitation for some action, from her.

So a man does not need to be polite, just know what to do to fix something.

In 'my' version I manage to get the gas before it runs dry. lol 😂

Too late, I watched that one.
But I've seen a few good ones: 'I Am Legend', with Will Smith was twisted into an interesting patten.
We'll be ok for a few years, right? ðŸ˜Ū 😎❗❗

I read today that 1 in 5 drivers in California have returned to gasoline cars because their electric cars take up to 5 days to charge. The leg swing is almost an essential skill for women!

So your comment caused me to look up efficiencies. Infernal (tongue in cheek) combustion engines convert about 20 percent of the fuel energy into motion energy. Natural gas power plants are about 40 to 45 percent of the fuel into electrical energy. Transmission losses over the lines are about 5 percent (95 percent efficient) It appears that about 77 percent of the power used to charge an electric vehicle is converted to motion. So at best an EV converts about 33percent of the natural gas into motion; so about 65 percent more efficient than the ICE.

Solar panels and wind turbines and hydro also have environmental impacts as most use (or used) oil products during manufacturing and construction. That oil energy is repaid multiple times during the life cycle of the item. Solar panels seem to provide 9 times more energy than it takes to produce and install them and wind turbines 20 times more than production and installation.

The only issue that I see as a problem is the range on an EV for long trips. I think that they make perfect sense for commuters and even for me most of the time. That 300 mile trip to see relatives really stretches the range for me until there are more charging stations. And then there are the miles that I need for hauling horses with the truck. Maybe someday there will be an all electric heavy duty pickup that will fill that function.

Now an electric tractor that could rake and bale 10 acres of hay on a single charge would be the cat's meow.

I learned mine in the 70s when I wore miniskirts but was too modest to flash my undies!

Each woman is different so a 'Mr. Grumpy', may or may not work. If there was a universal key, we'd all be crashing into each other, and THAT'S not happening.

I'm sure for SOME women, that grumpy guy is a perfect fit.

True, about knowing what to do. 😎❗❗

Five days seems like a long time. They'll be shortening THAT time.

Get an old diesel pickup. They're pretty simple and EMP-proof. When you can't find a dead semi to drain, you can burn vegetable oil.
