Poem : She Stayed. Undated circa 1999.
She stayed

She stayed
as long as the light
flared on flowers
when flowers were us
and dawn spoke of glitter
We were sunspots in the December blizzard
we made love in trailers
musty and<b> damp
</font></b>in cellars
at work
in parks
in parking lots
in other peoples homes
everywhere we could
her long jet black hair streaming
her 90 lb. body heaving and twisting
and creaming and her screaming,
" I love you!"
Her screaming,
" I HATE YOU."
the pain on her face
when I said:
" I'm not in love with you anymore."
But she stayed with me
throughout all my years
even though I tried to forget her
Guess I really didn't know
What the fuck I was talking about.
