Sadly the infants have to suffer !

In keeping with the news from Canada it would seem there are 10 infants in Manitoba who have been born with Syphilis and Doctors there say its going to get much worse as they expect more babies will be born especially this year, with the sometimes crippling disease. This is only come about in the last six months.
Doctors are concerned that some births of the babies have already passed through and out the doors of the hospitals because the sexually transmitted disease sometimes doesn't show any signs...some Mothers have put restrictions on the tests and they have that right..sadly infants suffer when the disease shows..The two hisest rates of transference is Mother who use drugs and shoot drugs and unprotected sex mostly by men having sex with other men and then passing the infection on to wives , girl friends and women who they seek out for sexual pleasure and not wearing protection...the rate for disease to travel and spread is higher for women who get pregnant..and pass it on to their babies..
Doctors say the numbers will increase as time goes on and as investigation reports come in and be completed , in 2014 there were 118 cases reported and that number has now bypassed 350 in the year 2018 , the increase in women who in general do drugs of crystal meth is exacerbating the situation. Some of the babies who were born with the disease may have symptoms of deformed bones, severe anemia, enlarged liver and spleen, jaundice, brain and nerve problems, including blindness or deafness as well as meningitis and skin rashes..
in conclusion one doctor says," there is definitely a problem in reaching the general public and a lack of better ways to teach adult humans who are sexually active about proper protection and reaching out to mothers who desperately need prenatal care of the infant who is born with the disease and providing good harm-reduction services."
Suffer the little ...

it is sad for the children who have to live their lives out with those debilitating conditions..the ones who die at birth are probably the ,lucky ones ..but I still wonder if the woman or parents grieve for the child or grieve for themselves...its always said that people who do wrong end up crying but do they cry because they are truly sorry for the turn of events or do they cry because they get caught considering themselves stupid and will do it again try to figure out where they went wrong the first time?

I feel bad for anyone suffering such for something completely beyond their fault. To be born with any disease is horrible.

But to put on the hat of Ye Olde Devil's Advocate for a moment, this is how nature maintains balance. Survival of the fittest not only applies to adaptation, but also to keeping an ecosystem healthy. Unhealthy self-destructive members of the species are removing themselves from the gene pool. It's sad, but it's how things work. Anything that we do to change it will only make the overall ecosystem even unhealthier and result in even more suffering. It sucks, but unless an all-powerful divine being or three want to come down here and personally change the rules of nature, it's what we have to live with.

And is why smart people wear condoms. Hell, we haven't cured AIDS either. Plenty of reasons to wear a raincoat or sterilize your needles if you can't afford shiny new ones every time.

(Honestly, I never quite understood why governments everywhere don't give out both for free, along with other birth control and sterilization products, available from non-judgemental automated machines outside of healthcare buildings. People will always be people. As smart as an individual may be, we're also all still animals with instincts. No amount of laws will ever change that.)

Even an herb as sweet as basil is nothing without its bite.
