Devilish Smile I went down to the crossroad to sell the Devil my soul I asked him to teach me how to Rock and Roll He took me with his flaming hands and I sold my soul +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I listened to his music, things I never heard before Now I can do the things I never ever could have known I came back from the crossroad and I was alone I picked my guitar now Im playing soul ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I could never play this way before no matter how hard I tried Something new was in me and something else died I know one of these days the Devil will get his due. But until he finds I will play the<b> blues </font></b>++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I went down to the crossroads and came back with a new style I played it in the Juke joint and I drove em wild The Devils musics got me way down inside I cant let that stop even if I tried Honky tonks and Late night bars is where I will reside ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I know one day he will catch up with me, until then I will just smile Laughing at the Devil maybe I will pay the price Im loving every moment now until he takes my life +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When Im at that crossroad I will try and run and hide The Devil will still find because I got him deep inside The stories they will tell about me is I died with a smile Im still going to be an Angel with one wing in the fire ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (c) Melisa Moore 2019  |
