Too many of you people have been watching 50 Shades of Grey…

Ok so I’ll be honest I’ve not actually watched it and I only read one chapter of a book before I decided my brain didn’t need to contain this pointless knowledge. However luckily for me I have been involved with some Sub/Dom relationships before, I wouldn’t say I’m an expert but I have enough common sense and experience to know when I’m dealing with a total fucking moron. Overall I’m submissive in nature, particularly when I was younger but as I’ve gotten older I have realised I have a Dom side of my own.

Telling someone ‘You are going to beat them 50 shades of grey’ isn’t being dominant! This is probably the most frequent misconception I come across. ‘You can only be a Dom if you cause pain to you partner blah blah blah’…NOT TRUE AT ALL! The majority of Subs I’ve encountered over the years don’t like pain at all. The S/D relationship is based on a power play and nothing to do with causing the other harm. Obviously there are still plenty of Subs who are into that sort of thing but stop believing that you HAVE! to do that to be classified as Dom.

‘You said you were Sub so you’ll do everything I say or else!’ <--- Online this isn’t so bad as you can point out the person is being too forceful, in person it’s a very different experience. Should you meet someone in person who tries to push you further than you are willing to go and you haven’t given any form of consent, said no, used safe word etc…then that’s what Tasers are for! There is a big difference between pushing someone’s boundaries and forcing them into something they don’t want to do! So stop getting the two mixed up.

‘I’m submissive! I let 10 guys fuck me this week!’ ((side note: and it wasn’t a gangbang)) …eeer pretty sure that means you are the village bike actually. Which fair enough if you like having sex with that many people then yay you but that doesn’t mean you are Sub, or Dom for that matter. For people to be genuinely S/D it takes time.

‘To be S/D you have to control them all day long’ Hmmm again not true. I am friends with a lovely couple like this and she does do everything she is told, she doesn’t choose her clothing, what she will eat, anything. But at the same time you can talk to her and understand this is what she wants and she explains her reasons. This is incredibly rare! In most cases Subs have a stressful job and need someone to take control in their down time and vice versa.

‘Look at my amazing pic of a woman I tied up!’ OH HOLY CRAP MOTHER OF GOD WHAT TYPE OF KNOT DID YOU USE!!!...Do not jump into this level of play unless you know exactly what you are doing! I’ve always had a fascination with Japanese rope bondage, I find the complex nature of the knots fascinating and beautiful. Be careful! People who have interests in this sort of thing tend to keep safety items such as scissors nearby just in case.

And Finally ‘Me me me me me’ This applies to both Sub and Dom. A Dom who is me me me will not satisfy your needs and isn’t a Dom at all. A Sub who is me me me is just a general slut who you’ll get bored of pretty fast and again isn’t a genuine Sub so where is the challenge?

(( These thoughts are all based on my personal opinions and you shouldn’t take any of my advice as educational at all as I generally have no idea what I’m talking about. Play Safe and Have Fun on the Site xXx ))
