they knew what
we didn't know
they preyed upon us
we the innocent
the naïve
they laughed
as they pounded down
their drinks
as they sat
in their mansions
in their estates
in their upper east side
at their dinner table
being served
they smiled
how stupid they are
all those who
think they know
what's going on
they gather together
for drinks
a fine meal
the best of everything
they talk amongst themselves
planning their next move
how do we manipulate
them next
what do we tell them
what story can we
make up
for them to believe
they laugh
as they roll the dice
as they dine
as they drink
the finest<b> champagne
</font></b>the finest wine
what will we
have our president
do next
what do we need
him to do
this or that
to benefit us
do we start a war
do we buy the favor
of this country
or that country
do we tell the people
do we tell them this
or do we tell them that
all to benefit us
to give us everything
we want and need
what do we tell them next
so as to benefit ourselves

They will only listen if it benefits them in some way or you can convince them that what they're doing will not benefit them in some way. All work out some kind of bargain or compromise maybe.
