I'm not attacking, identity and other things.

I know this is a place for sexy time news but I don't have any sex so I write this stuff. I swear to get to the filthy nasty soon and tell you all about it but right now I think this needs to be said.

My last post got a lot of attention. There was a lot of disagreements and arguing. It was great. There was some bumps, like some just responding that I was wrong and wasn't going to tell me why...Okay, and the feelings argument which is a trap. You can't debate with a shaky foundation of feeling. Feelings are unreliable. They change all the time and give you a false sense of the world around you. Everyone has experienced your feeling not giving you a accurate picture of things. The most universal being monsters under your bed as a . And that's where we're starting. I had two options. Bash them over the head with logic in a debate before the debate I wanted to have or forfeit. I forfeited that one. Although while I was reveling in all this juicy debate it hit me. Maybe everyone isn't enjoying this as much as you think they are.

Identity is a weird thing. People tie it to arbitrary things and don't like when you fuck with it. They define themselves by they're gender or social status or religious affiliations and that comes with a set of beliefs that if you question makes them feel attacked. I don't mean to attack people but when you have controversial ideas you're bound to step on some toes but its not my intentionto be a asshole. It's my intention to show you that there's a logical explanation for the illogical things that people do and it's not what you been told. Like if you were always told that Black people are over represented at or below the poverty line because of racism and I come along and say No its because of a cultural over dependence on government and give you stats on the number of black people on government assistance and the numbers of their parents being on assistance and the likelihoodof their being on assistance and the effects on their upward mobility. The government corruption in the black community and the effects on the quality of education young black get while showing how education is the number one indicated factor in someone's life earnings and showing the high black political incumbent reelection rates. If you identity as being someone who is woke and I tell you that you're sleepwalking because you not considering the possibility of other factors then you feel attacked and I become a uncle Tom.

I have some much evidence to back up my ideas because I test them constantly. I try to prove myself wrong all the time because I have had by core beliefs jettisoned at least 3 different times in my life. Once when I stopped being a Evangelical christian, Once when I stopped being a Democrat and again when stopped being a feminist. When you have core beliefs tested and they fail it shakes you're belief in everything. You start to question everything and you become hypersensitive to the idea that you could be wrong about everything. And when no idea is sacred when they come into question you don't feel attacked but I have to remember that everyone isn't on the same path as you so lay off fuck tard.

Well Cerios I'll have to go and read that other post.
Purely commenting here on this post- I only slightly disagree with you about the statistics of black people on assistance and why that happens. Yes, it becomes a cycle but the assumption is then to cut off assistance. That is not the answer. The answer would be along the lines of the adage- Give a man a fish, he eats. Teach a man to fish, he will be able to eat for life.

I have a sign off on my yahoo email that is perfectly in line with my philosophy " "Since we can't know what knowledge will be most needed in the future, it is senseless to try to teach it in advance. Instead, we should try to turn out people who love learning so much and learn so well that they will be able to learn whatever needs to be learned." - John Holt

And with that, I will sign off,

The person just before your first post cinnamon0133. Said something like "You're so wrong and I'm not going to get into it with you". Not to call her out or anything. As for the logic vs feelings argument you can't argue with feelings as a valid argument. You can have all the evidence in the world but your opponent can just feel that you're wrong and with no other reason declare victory. The only defense against feelings is logic but you can't validate feelings because you can justify ridiculous positions and still have a leg to stand on .

I never said that your reply was emotional. I said that I didnt want to have the discussion and I didnt want to have because your reply was ABOUT emotions. Your emotions are colored by your life experiences and state of mind. Which is why it's a terrible foundation for a discussion because I have to have the same life experiences and state of mind to understand the way you experience emotions. You can't start with this emotional bias. I could use logic to overcome this bias but I don't want to.

You're right human beings make emotional decisions and rationalize them all the time but emotional rationalizations aren't a good place to start a discussion. Because emotions are personal and how can you discuss rationalizations when they are based on something you don't have. That doesn't mean you need the same experience to discuss anything you just need start from a personal state. It should be as general as possible. If one person starts from a personal state you have to drag them to a more general state with the only tool you have that works which is logic. I'm not more logical than anyone else I just understand that my emotions are a terrible place to start a discussion.
