Do you ever find yourself in this situation?

I open my closet to decide what I'm going to wear to work today.

Should be easy.... I have a TON of clothing in a very LARGE closet.

It is NOT easy.

As I look through the articles of clothing neatly hanging side by side, I begin saying aloud, "Too tight. Too baggy. Too long. Too warm. Stain. Hole in the armpit. Way too small. Gives me wedgies."

Several shirts tried on and thrown on the bed later, I get pissed, throw my arms up in the air, and exclaim "I HATE EVERYTHING I OWN! GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!"

Now I'm in a bad mood.

Now I obsess about my appearance for the rest of the day because I don't feel like I look my best.

I sometimes wish we lived in a day and age where shiny metallic jumpsuits were worn by everyone and nobody ever had to worry about "what am I going to wear today?"

 You just need a good morning "assistant" to tell you how you beautiful the outfit you've chosen is. Bonus points if they actually know what they're talking about, not everyone who applies will be cut out for the job!

And if that doesn't work, give them a different task to take your mind off of your closet altogether

 Yeah.. we all have those days.
I'm in fashion. I design and make clothes, a lot of the time for people who end up wearing them in film, on television and in magazines.
I have seen some of the most beautiful women (and men) in the world blow through entire racks of gorgeous, expensive, well tailored clothes with much of the same comments. And the next day, it's all good. Same clothes.
Doesn't make it feel any better in the moment, but I guarantee you, every single person does it.
Today it was my turn as well.

 It's a lot like Christmas really.Every Thursday or Friday I get a call asking when is the best time to drop off my dry cleaning.Since I don't wear the same clothes there is always something that stays nicely starched and clean for what ever the occasion.

 I wear almost the same thing every day. .. I have a sniff test, even with my fresh clothes. .. I also have a cat.

 Jeans & T-shirt kinda guy here . . . & the T-shirts are all either black or navy . . . makes life really easy that way . . . & I'll bet you COULD totally pull off a jumpsuit (or I'd be willing to pull it off for you [weg])

 I have long ago accepted that no matter what I do, no matter what I wear I am simply unattractive so, it is the jeans out of the stack and next t-shirt in the pile.

Thankfully I work in a steel toed shoes and safety glasses enviroment so what i wear and the image I project are secondary to what I know and what I can do.
Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.

It's a lot easier when your job doesn't dictate your wardrobe. I envy that. Working in sales can be kind of tough. People tend to judge you, the sales girl, more harshly than they judge the products you sell.

 Pretty much everything I own is black, including my shoes. I have a couple of jewel toned blouses but everything else is black.

I can reach in with my eyes closed and pull out a pulled together outfit.

For work I have to wear blue jeans and white shirts. But, who can just wear blue jeans and a white shirt? Not me.... I have to decide what scarf I want to wear and what earrings match the scarf and what kind of shit do I want to do my hair with....

 I look in my closet and say "black uniform shirt, blue jeans" and I'm done. I wish we lived in a day and age where clothing was optional, some days I could really NOT wear pants.

At one time I worked for a company that had a uniform, it was awesome. I never had to worry about what to wear. Red polo, black pants. Done. Getting ready for work was SO much faster.
