A portrait...

A portrait...

This is my first try at using just colored pencils for a portrait. This one was especially challenging given the subtle colors. I've included a picture of the project in it's early stages and as it is now...and I've included a picture of the photograph that was the inspiration, just for reference.

I have also been working on a few other projects...two are using watercolor pencils; the cherry blossoms are done with the colored pencils.

Self-discovery at my age is pretty exciting...I look forward to working on new art pieces every day. I start school next Monday...Ceramics, 2 Dimensional Design and Intro to Interior Design. I wanted to take 4 art classes but my advisor said she's never had an art student be able to handle more than 2 a quarter. So bummed that I had to drop my Drawing and Sculpture class, but there is always next quarter.

Thanks for allowing me to share my hobby with you. I know this is not what most people are here for but, as the saying goes, it is my blog

And I am still working on my David clay sculpture...and he will be anatomically endowed

All of them are excellent!
I can't draw at all. Not even a cartoon drawing.
I've always wished I could.
