New people

Meeting new people is always a little scary. One of the nice things about modern communitations is that we can chat with people electronically, before we ever meet them. That is one of the reasons that sites like this exist. It certainly relieves a lot of tension when you can learn things about each other before you meet. But in order for that to happen, people that participate on these sites have to be willing to communicate, to use the sites as they are intended.

I actually got to meet a woman that I have known for years, today. We have e-mailed and IM'd all this time but had never met. I wish we had sooner because she is a great person. And the meeting was so easy because we already knew so much about each other. Modern communications systems are great ways to meet.

So, why do people get on these sites and not want to communicate? Even if it is just to say, "not interested"? Any thoughts out there?

 A lot of people have made a connection and gotten stood up and now won't meet a soul now let alone talk with someone.Some have no intentions of meeting people.The grass is always greener attention spans.

The story goes like this.When women reply with not interested they more often than not get another message calling her names and all kinds b s.
The mystery is why do these women open a message from a guy they just blew off.
Using more than all the road!

 Good points! But why get on these sites if you aren't expecting to chat and try to meet people? Many people, especially women seem to get offended when you try bto chat. Even on IM. Or some have expectations for finding true love or soul mates. Totally unrealistic expectations. I don't mind the flirts and teases, that's part of the fun. And you rarely actually meet people, but you can still have great conversations and some fun.
