A few weeks ago ..... Football season started

Getting back into the rhythm of writing, after taking so many day off has been a challenge. It seems,at least for me, that writing is a therapy of sorts. Just the act of taking a few minutes to sit down at the keyboard, or in my younger years a manual "Royal" typewriter and hit the keys in a rhythmic pattern is so relaxing.

Well, last month (or a few weeks ago) Training camp opened. For some people those two words "training camp" means little if anything. For me, several of my closest friends along with hundreds of thousands of others people around this country and around the globe, idea that football season was back was something to celebrate. IN the college camp the fan based gets geeked up with fall practice, in the NFL it is training camp.

For many years (22) the Los Angeles market only had two college teams (one if you really want to know the truth, USC) and no NFL teams. The Rams and the Raiders had both relocated from the Los Angeles market to brighter and more hospitable cities like St. Louis and Oakland. Yeah right. Last year, the NFL decided to allow the Rams, formerly from St. Louis and Anaheim and Los Angeles and Cleveland (long story with that move/swap) back to the Los Angeles market.

The Ram's still had an excited base of fan here in this Los Angeles market, many would even fly to games in St. Louis from Los Angeles just to see their favorite team play in person. This is understandable, at least for me. (I usually fly to Phoenix several times a year to see the Arizona Cardinals over the last 11 years - Go RedBirds).

Training camp opened at UCI (University of California @ irvine). The first day of training camp for the newly relocated Rams was truly exciting and enjoyable. So, for you many NFL widows, it's time for football.
