Film Review - Fury
Film Review - Fury Its April 1945 and the Allies are on the final push through Germany. Brad Pitt leads a battle hardened tank crew and a rookie on a mission to hold a crossroads against a German counter attack. Logan Lerman (probably best known from his Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief), is excellent portraying the nieve innocent new member of the team, thrown into the crew with no training or understanding of war, being broken and corrupted by events around him. Brad Pitt aka War Daddy (yes really) puts in a good performance as the leader and father figure of the crew. Michael Pena and John Bernthal are solid, but for me Shia Labeouf is outstanding as the bible quoting gunner of the team. Fury is written and directed by David Ayer and from the first gory scene thrusts us into the action, battering us with the violence of war and never letting go. The obvious inadequacies of the Sherman tank against the superior German armor are dealt with, building the tension to the films conclusion where we get a tiny glimpse of how claustrophobic and scary being in a tank during battle must be. All in all an excellent action film, go watch it. |

Thanks for that! Would you consider it a "date film"? Meaning, take your lady? I'm reluctant - since it's war and all (despite Brad Pitt's obvious attraction for many ladies). Didja know those were actual WWII tanks for the majority of the shots? I think that's pretty cool.

I wouldn't take a first date to it, but if you k now the lady, I think you could. Its good, intense but ticks along nicely. It is very gory though.
