When once we were lovers

When once we were lovers
You have got to wonder where this will lead
broken hearts and voice mail messages unanswered
all the debris of modern toil and strife
trying to work out what became of your life
it won't be worth it you will say
I wish I never met you I rue that day
and yet better than being alone
and there was such a frisson down the phone
when we kissed our minds intoxicated
because loving and sex and trust can be complicated
I hate you and I want you and I need you
I want to forget you and need to remember
every moment we spent together raw
seems all my senses sensual you did draw
alert and tasting such warmth of life in you
and now we are expected to sit and slowly stew
on what went wrong and not on so right
remember now and not those many joyous nights

there was only joy and passion when we did begin
so I care not for the endings at which we will arrive
for the raw passion of our being together keeps me alive
the taste of the heat of you marked my body and thoughts
in every moment with you even now in tangle of lust caught
would adore you again and try and make you cry out
leave those internal marks so in your sleeping dreams shout
it was worth it every moment and every taste
we lived our life and those moments ended did not waste
explored your body and found what pleasure you knew
when once we were lovers best and brightest me and you.

 Time captures us all......takes us all.....is the one moving constant....

so perhaps as a philosophy....

this is not so bad: "we lived our life and those moments ended did not waste".
