A beautiful tribute. Thank you for posting this.
I attended the service today at our City Hall and was impressed at the wide range of ages attending and those serving past and present.

It's important that the young know why and what we remember

Our neighbor down the street growing up, Miss Louise, was also known as Poppy Girl. She would make the red paper flowers by hand and show up at all servicemen events and pin them to their uniform lapels. I'm happy to remember Miss Louise today too.

lovely.

my dad never spoke of his service until close to his death when he had alzheimers and then he talked to his buddies. it was enough to tear your heart to shreds.

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

My dad never spoke of his either and by the time I was old enough to ask him about them he had passed away.
