Where ...... were you when the world stopped turning?  I was sleeping on my couch after working overnight and woke up to what I thought was a movie trailer. It didn't take long for me to realize it was real and I don't think I moved from that spot all day.  When I heard this song, it summed up all the emotions I felt that day. Where were you when the world stopped turnin' That September day? Out in the yard with your wife and Or workin' on some stage in L.A.? Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke Risin' against that blue sky? Did you shout out in anger, in fear for your neighbor, Or did you just sit down and cry? Did you weep for the , they lost their dear loved ones, Pray for the ones who don't know? Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble And sob for the ones left below? Did you burst out in pride for the red, white, and blue And heroes who died just doin' what they do? Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer And look at yourself and what really matters? I was in the clinic I was running for HIV+ folks in Boston. we didn't know it was happening until the FBI came in to close us down. we were too close to the Hancock tower and they feared it might be another site. I had over 30 folks on tables with acupuncture needles in them. we had to clear in 10 minutes. I took 9 people in my car. just to get out of Boston. then to my son's school. I took kids to my house to wait for parents who ere stuck. I was so glad to have children surrounding me. You cannot conceive the many without the one.

Wonderfully written. I was working at the time. I recall colleagues going into the boardroom to watch and myself at my desk not knowing what was going on. I got sent out on a call and didn't know until that evening how real and tragic it was.

I was getting ready to take my teenagers to school. And go to work, this day will be in our hearts and minds forever.. Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

A day which weighs heavy in the hearts of all who remember that day. My children had left for school and I was making another pot of coffee when my phone rang to tell me to turn on the television. I sat and watched the events unfold all day. A couple years later I stood at the edge of Ground Zero and shed more than a few tears for those who lost their lives that day. They are forever in our hearts.

I was getting ready for work and getting my daughter ready for preschool. In shock as I was watching this unfold on TV, then at my office. It was a very profound day for all. Rachel Mae

Great post here CWAZY. I was in my Boss Office and saw this first hand on the TV set. We had a warship coming home from the Gulf and then we had to figure out where she was off too next. 7 days out of home port. Very sad day indeed hugssssss V  Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

i was at work not far. thinking about all the people that i knew that worked in lower Manhattan. I was praying for their safety. some were and a lot perished. thank you for posting. that song brings me to tears because I lived most of that song.

Quoting cwazywabbit009 Must have been a powerful experience visiting there. Yes it was a very powerful experience standing there and seeing the hole in the ground where the towers once stood. Seeing the tributes and messages on the fence surrounding the area. The fresh flowers which you knew someone had places there that day. A very powerful and a very emotional place to be.

I was getting ready to take my kids to school, and watching my grand children. Such a wonderful song by Alan Jackson. I was watching the TV watching what was going on in NY such a tragic day that will be forever in our hearts and minds.. Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..
