Browsing ...... member activity today I cam across a comment a man made on a fellow bloggers status - "...and, perhaps you need to be choosy about your "wants"....". Although I have never met this blogger in person, this comment annoyed me as I was fairly certain this man had not met her either. If he had he would not have made this kind of comment on her status. I don't know his motivation behind his comment but it struck me as a prime example of  I wonder how he would react to a woman telling him the same thing ....  Probably not ..... but I can dream.  Yes, I am conscious that I am sitting behind my computer screen commenting on what I saw, but I am not singling any one person out for a lecture/unsolicited advice. It's more of a commentary on how our society has progressed[???] ..... regressed??   It's not to much to hold out for what you want. Why settle for less?  Because why settle for Twilight when you can have  or  [apologies to all Twilight fans out there]    Drop in and visit my blog sometime, but you'll probably regret it |

You are so right! A great portion of society seems to have lost the ability to be kind, considerate and polite....and the anonymity of the internet and lack of face to face contact has certainly contributed to that. Thanks for the great post!  Dreaming2nite

Super post! I'm by the old standard, "show respect yourself and you can respect others". When you show less than that, you can't convince folks that you are worthy of their respect. Fun is fun, but there's a limit. Bullying, of any sort, in any venue, is unacceptable. Touché For many, it's a lot easier to put someone down than to compliment them. Reminds me of people who find 'liquid courage ' when they drink too much and say things they never would when sober.
