sure if I should have laughed or just shook my head in so I did both.



I was pinged on IM [it actually worked!!!]



A young woman of 32 said hi so being a polite Canadian, I said hello back.



She asks me where I was from, so being a smart ass I asked her "from or live now?"



She replies live and then tells me she lives in Trackside ........ ?????



I assumed it was a spelling error and I tell her where I live presently. She re-sends where she is from, Trackadie ....



Now, for me, that is a red flag when you fail to correctly spell the town you are supposedly from the first two times. [Tracadie is the correct spelling in case you were wondering]



Wondering if she would notice her mistake I wait ........ nope, she proceeds to ask me what I was looking for. I tell her and also let her know that I prefer women who are older than her.



On the bright side she took that well and we went our separate ways.



What are your red flags when someone is chatting with or messaging you?

 Depending on why I am chatting with them. There are some I chat with for advice on topics which do not have anything to do with meeting, or sexual . That being said, I do have a few red flags like lack of information in their profile. If they try too hard to meet up too quickly is another. I am a stickler for manners and respect. Sometimes I watch how they treat others and if they are not respectful to others that is a major red flag for me.

 Being crass and too aggressive. Spelling is a pet peeve of mine, but not a red flag, autocorrect is weird sometimes

 spelling is such an important thing in my brain .. if there is consistent mistakes throughout a profile, it irritates me beyond belief.

One spelling mistake on the profile might have been an oversight but lots of them point to a lack of something - effort, detail, attention,etc. Does make you pause.
