There .......

are times when I am grateful that I grew up in a time before the internet and cell phones. Sure, I am thankful we have them now, as without the internet, I would not have met so many great people from all over the world. Made connections with people I would not have come into contact with, and learned more about myself with their help.

But I did learn how to write and spell properly,

how to talk to people face to face,

and to respect others ..... until they give you a reason to at least.

If you went out somewhere with a group of people, most of them didn't

so you could actually talk to them .....

You didn't have to worry about getting caught doing something that was funny but the picture someone takes without your knowledge gets taken out of context and the next thing you know the

Being able to contact someone almost instantly, from almost anywhere, is good ..... most of the time, and it is always nice when you can send a friend a pic to make them smile.

Learning all the jargon was interesting, at times: lmao, lmfao, lol, gm, gn, etc..... but you can usually trip the youngins up if you come back with fubar or snafu.

So I think we have the best of both worlds. We can write legibly, spell reasonably well, talk in person, and can also function, fairly well, in the internet age. And we are fairly good with our punctuation, and grammar!

I agree, we were lucky to grow up in a time when people actually had conversations face to face.
