+++ Seduction of the TV mind

Again Talk Radio gets me. They were talking about the Top ten situation comedies (Sitcoms) of all time. They did acknowledge that there are several other lists and none agree with each other. Should I be dismayed that I have never even heard of several of these on this list, and the few I did see were just trash in my opinion? I think I may have stepped out of orbit with much of the TV watching community. Do you agree with these choices? Do you have a “SitCom” that you like and would like to add?

They took the pics, I will try again

1. Modern Family (2009 TV Series)
Three different, but related families face trials and tribulations in their own uniquely comedic ways.

2. Friends (1994 TV Series)
Follows the lives of six 20-something friends living in Manhattan.

3. How I Met Your Mother (2005 TV Series)
A father recounts to his , through a series of flashbacks, the journey he and his four best friends took leading up to him meeting their mother.

4. The Office (2005 TV Series)
A mockumentary on a group of typical office workers, where the workday consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and tedium. Based on the hit BBC series.

5. Parks and Recreation (2009 TV Series)
The absurd antics of an Indiana town's public officials as they pursue sundry projects to make their city a better place.

6. Family Guy (1999 TV Series)
In a wacky Rhode Island town, a dysfunctional family strive to cope with everyday life as they are thrown from one crazy scenario to another

7. The Simpsons (1989 TV Series)
The satiric adventures of a working-class family in the misfit city of Springfield.

8. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005 TV Series)
Four young friends with big egos and slightly arrogant attitudes are the proprietors of an Irish bar in Philadelphia.

9. Two and a Half Men (2003 TV Series)
A hedonistic jingle writer's free-wheeling life comes to an abrupt halt when his brother and 10-year-old nephew move into his beach-front house.

10. Last Man Standing (2011 TV Series)
A married father of three tries to maintain his manliness in a world increasingly dominated by women.

I watch mostly Spanish Novellas (SitComs), they are a bit spicier. My current favorite is Duenos del Paraiso

I agree with The Simpsons being on the list, and also The Office though I prefer the original UK version with Ricky Gervais.
I'd have South Park, Frasier and Not Going Out on my list.

Of course Modern Family is #1,its writing and timing of the actors is golden! Try and pick a favorite, its impossible, I fucking love this show!!! Parks and Rec is also fast paced, and excellent cast. I love dry humor, and I like it fast....takes a seasoned actor with raw talent to pull of this pace. Southpark is funny and raunchy at the same time...haha..I have so many I adore. Arrested Development is another fast paced, well written show, too bad its not on anymore, but can view on Netflix, give it a try, its wild!!!
I wish I could settle in and sample those programs. Alas, I am a news junkie generally, with a few exceptions. I looked up Arrested Development, and they won 5 Emmys they must have been good. [image]

I like most of that list. What about Cheers, Frazier, Seinfield, and The Golden Girls.
It seems that making one list of the top 10 is impossible. I have watched a few of the Frasier shows, I liked it [image]

I don't watch sitcoms. They're only half-hour long and the other half usually stinks.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!
