The Incredible Coldness of Being

Darkness of an early winter night.
Warmth fades to icy blast.
Home at last from the emergency call,
I slip between the cold cheets.
Shivering.
No warmth.
Instead, as the night goes on,
Cold envelops the bed,
Threatening,
To drive me away.
I'm paralyzed.
Not willing to venture out into the cold
But,
Finally,
I do.
I pick up the comforter that I had kicked to the floor.
Smiling.
It's Saturday.

 Sleeping in is always good especially with a comforter or a warm friend.
Never ignore those who care for you
you will have lost diamonds
while you were collecting stones
