George R. R. Martin should be considered a genius (if he isn't already). And if you loved Lord Of The Rings I can't see you not loving Game Of Thrones.

OK. Where was I? Ah, yes! George R. R. Martin is a genius. Some would even say he's a modern-day J.R.R.Tolkien (author of "Lord of the Rings," for you non-readers); actually, it has been said he's a modern-day J.R.R. Tolkien.

So far there has been no faeries or elves, but we have had dragons, zombies, direwolves, and Melisandre, the Red Witch. Keep on watching. If it wasn't exciting enough for you before then watch out! Things are about to get bad.

Fair warning: Don't develop any attachments to your favorites, and don't fall in love with any of the characters, because the fate that be-felled Ned Stark might be only a heart-beat away.

That's the genius of George R.R. Martin, anyone can die at the fall of... an axe, or a sword. This ain't your parent's fairy tales!
