Movie Time

Jeremy Renner has hit the big-times. Who is Jeremy Renner, you ask? He’s the star, along with Anthony Mackie, of Oscar winning “The Hurt Locker”.

He might not be heavily muscled like Sly Stallone, or Arnold, nor martial arts slick as, say, a Jet Li, but he has been in heavy demand since being in the Oscar-nominated “The Hurt Locker”, where he got nominated for a supporting actor award. He scored his second supporting actor award for “The Town” appearing with Ben Affleck

I was just thinking about when it was that I first I saw him, after reading an article on the new “Bourne” movie that’s due soon, and realized that it was in a little-seen television show called “The Unusuals”. It was funny, but I guess not a lot of people shared my view since it only lasted 10 episodes.

I never noticed him in "S.W.A.T." Nor do I remember seeing him in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”. But apparently I should have. Don’t recall him in an episode of House either. But I loved his acting in the Unusuals, so when I saw his role in the Hurt Locker I was pleased and I’m thinking, “Wow! Getting big.”

But big is an understatement. He just appeared in"Mission Impossible: 4", he just wrapped "The Avengers", and if I’m not mistaken, he also just wrapped the next installment of the Bourne series (The Bourne Legacy) and a bit of witchery in the form of"Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters".

He appeared for a short while in Thor, and although I’ve been griping about the fate of Alcatraz, I think my luck is still holding up. How, you say?
1 ) The Avengers… due this spring (I’m a serious comic-book fan: X-Men, Avengers, Justice League)
2 ) The Bourne Legacy… due this summer (Robert Ludlum, though dead, has remained my favorite author)
3 ) Hansel & Gretel… was due this year, but apparently that has changed (witches, fairy tales, fantasy; when handled right, I’m in heaven).

Remind me to stop bitching!
