Trump and Hitler

The eerie parallels between Trump and the rise of Hitler are striking.

Hitler rose to power during the depression in Germany following WWI. Out of work suffering Germans were seduced by his nationalism and bragging only he could solve the problems. Hitler scapegoated Jews, commies, slavs and gypsies. Then he got rid of the German parliament and other independent sources of power. Hitler used big lies and propaganda to sway the masses.

Trump seems to be using a similar game plan, only he uses Muslims, Mexico and China as the scapegoats.

How can the US resist? The courts and the press are key to blocking Trump. Also the military and the states must stand up to authoritarian rule. Powerful companies and the public supporting lawsuits brought by the ACLU and states can slow the fascism.

Trump will learn he is not elected king, and Congress will not fund his kingdom. Schumer and the Senate Democrats must use their power to block insanity. We shall see if it is enough to stop the Demon Spawn.
