WORLD CUP SEX
WORLD CUP SEX Above and below is the latest tourist attraction in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro. After the ‘Bite of God’ incident, tourists are now flocking to this billboard on Copacabana beach to have their photos taken with Luis Suarez, who has just been banned from football for four months for biting an Italian defender. I think it was really a love-bite! Today is a terrible day - there is no World Cup football! It’s a very long day; I might even have to do something useful like clean my apartment. Thankfully, the knockout rounds start tomorrow to prevent me from finishing my cleaning efforts! So far the Latin American teams are having it more-or-less their way in the World Cup. Seven out of nine Central and South American teams are still in the tournament - only Ecuador and Honduras failed to qualify from their groups. Only six out of 13 European teams are left in the World Cup - Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and, incredibly, Greece. England can console themselves that they went out along with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Russia and Spain. But England can only look on at the Americans with envy as they are reminded what is possible when you play as a team. What has not got widely reported in the World Cup are the teams’ rules regarding players having sex during the tournament. Sports scientists are divided whether players having sex before a football game makes them play better or worse. This World Cup suggests that there is no pattern between the teams that allow their players to have sex are doing better or worse than those teams that ban their players from having sex. Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chile, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, South Korea and Spain all banned their players having sex. Not even a quick morning wank?! Australia, England, Italy, Switzerland, Uruguay and the US all allowed their players to have sex. Brazil allowed their players to have sex provided it was not “acrobatic” or “unusual”. France told their players they can have sex provided it does not last all night long. Nigeria permitted their players to have sex provided it was only with their wives. Interestingly, Costa Rica banned their players from having sex during the group stages but is allowing them to have sex now they’ve qualified from the group. Perhaps this explains why Costa Rica, playing as caged tigers, qualified very comfortably from their group at the expense of England and Italy. Do you think Luis (Jaws) Suarez’s ban from football is deserved or not? If you were a manager at the World Cup, would you allow your players to have sex during the tournament? Have you had, or would you have, sex just before playing competitive sport? |

1. I thought it wis light, but then McLis pointed oot that all footie organisations are morally bankrupt, so I'd ban them all for life. And wherr would that leave us as far as the world cup goes? 2. Not if it impaired their performance. 3. Yes, I have. I'm not aware of me being any less competitive or performing any worse.

First off I sure think he should be banned. He really should be long gone from any sports for at least a year. That was really uncalled.. I was shocked to see that on the news. I think sex before any sports should be up to the person. Only the person knows best if this will help or not help him or her out. hugs V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

Those biting selfies are too funny! Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

I think he should have been banned for life....it's his 3rd time....and he should get professional help. I think the players should be allowed to decide for themselves. They know best how it would affect them individually. Me....I haven't played any real sport since I was 18. ~~Anais Nin~~

I think he should be banned from ever playing soccer. This is the third time...like baseball...3 strikes- you're out! If their performance is not hindered, go for it. Yes I have had sex before playing hockey and baseball...but I was younger then!

The ban is pissweak... This is his 3rd offence doing it, so he should be banned from professional football altogether. If I were a team manager at a World Cup I would allow my players to have sex but only with eachother. I do think that sex before a big tournament can deplete some of the nervous energy essential to playing with spirit and determination.

I think he should be banned from the game for life but FIFA should be encouraging him to get professional help. Not while playing. I believe that genuinely professional players should be able to decide for themselves. Yeah - like I play competitive sport.

I'm interested in knowing why you don't like professional sport. Is it the obscene salaries of top sportspersons, the promotion of competitiveness, sport should be amateur, or another reason?

As a Liverpool fan, I'm interested to know how you feel about Suarez's likely transfer to Barcelona. Have the club given up on him or was he always going to move this summer?

Being a top professional footballer is not like being in the world we live. They are not responsible to do very little for themselves and are not responsible for much of what they do on and off the field.

the only time sex should be banned from sports ...is when sex is the sport...could you see the judges giving points for that spoert... Blue..... and please God let the US beat the Belgium's.....

Fucking eachother wasn't a directive but intended to to deter them from sex during comp and see whether any would slip........into eachother.

I can understand your reasons. Though I still watch and enjoy some football games, I've become quite cynical about the game. It's one reason my sporting attention has moved to ice hockey where, in the UK, there's hardly any money in the game.
