WATCH ME NAKED ON THE TOUR

Now, that's a bulge!

I’m off tomorrow for ten days to take in a couple of stages of the Tour de France. I’m going to be based in Lyon. On Saturday, Stage 14 ends in Lyon – I’ll be there naked by the finish line. After this stage, the Tour moves to the Alps. This is where the Tour will be won or lost – the riders have to climb Alpe d’Huez not once but twice!

Next Saturday, 20 July, Stage 20 starts at Annecy and ends in Mont Semnoz - I’ll be there naked by the start line! By the end of this stage, the winner of the Tour de France will be known as, by convention, the last stage is never contested except by the sprinters. The last stage is more of a procession with cyclists drinking champagne and smoking cigars en route to Paris. The Tour ends with a bunch sprint on the Champs-Élysées at night-time on Sunday, 21 July.

The winner of the Tour de France is given the coveted yellow jersey – the winner is the cyclist who takes the least time to complete the Tour. The polka dot jersey is awarded to the best climber and the green jersey is given to the best sprinter on the Tour. Cannondale’s Peter Sagan – see above photo – is almost certain to win the green jersey. Already, the Slovak cyclist is far ahead of the other sprinters, including Mark Cavendish, and he is odds-on favourite to wear the green jersey in Paris. The slowest rider completing the Tour is known as the lantern rouge; it is still an honour because he, unlike many other riders, actually finished the race!

Have you been on holiday this year? If so, where?
If not, do you have any holiday plans this year?

I’ll be back in ten days time.

I'm just about finished my 1st 2 weeks of vacation, and my budget doesn't allow me to do anything exciting. I've been hampered by my knee acting up (why on earth did it wait until NOW to start bothering me?); so have stuck pretty close to home, so not a lot of walking is involved.

I've spent the time alternating between doing major clean up around here, blogging, reading and getting a ton more sleep than I usually do, when I'm working.

I go back to work for one week, then am off for another three. That includes some time at my nudist resort (I haven't been there the last 3 summers), Pacific NorthWest Blogger Bash (in Seattle), and a mini-family reunion for my Mom's 85th birthday.

Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

Well Dr S,
I just thought that I would drop you a line to let you know that we are all missing you terribly ..... and you must never leave us for this length of time again.
Hugs,

We haven't been on holiday or what I call a vacation this year. We are still talking about it though. Love this post!
I hope you manage to get a holiday this year.

I hope you have a great time at the blogger bash. What happens at these bashes?
