Poetry - Down the rabbit hole

The night surrounds you
Cold, endless, terrifying
Wolves howl behind you
They almost have you
Keep going and never stop
Your almost there
Almost safe finally

Look there, you see something ahead
A hole over the horizon
You tumble down into it to avoid the wolves
Down the rabbit hole you go
Into a darkness that’s never-ending
A nightmare within yourself
