they are all quite good. it has been a fun experience. I'm glad that you introduced me to the group. Stick around... you've stumbled into a pretty damned good group of people. Yeat again you are a tremendous host for the symposia. I think this symposium, given its timing, is just what blogland needs. We can blog with each other rather than blog against the site's glitches! May I suggest 'Why are We Here?' as a possible topic for the next virtual symposium? Sorry, I already have suggested it!

I will pick up the link from your lovely friend Jaya? Should I assume that her presence is the result of your fine hand? If so, thank you: As I said in the introduction, I think we've broken the record for newbie participation with this symposium... and it's evangelizing efforts such as your (again, my presumption) which have enabled us to do so. One request: Would you ask Jaya to put a reciprocal link to the master list in her contribution? Thank you! May I suggest 'Why are We Here?' as a possible topic for the next virtual symposium? Sorry, I already have suggested it! I'm happy to add "Why are we here?" to the list of potential topics. I think you meant "Why are we on this site?" but I'm going to keep it vague: I love the idea of a few existential twists on the topic! Blog on, baby... Thank you! Yeah, the symposium came at a good time... but again, I'll point to redrockrascal and KtMnDu as the ones who figured out what was causing posts to disappear. Applause to them. I'm happy to add "Why are we here?" to the list of potential topics. I think you meant "Why are we on this site?" but I'm going to keep it vague: I love the idea of a few existential twists on the topic! Blog on, baby...

I've been involved with publishing in one way or another for the last 30 years, and I hadn't known what a wayzagoose was before you posted this. Had I known, I would have made my former editor/mentor/co-conspirator's life absolutely miserable until he had given us one. (Fear not: I made his life miserable in many other ways. To this day, he is one of my closest friends and mentors. I owe my career to him.) For the uninitiated -- as I was up until about 10 minutes ago: Per the encyclopedic site, a wayzgoose "was at one time an entertainment given by a master printer to his workmen each year on or about St Bartholomew's Day (24 August). It marked the traditional end of summer and the start of the season of working by candlelight. Later, the word came to refer to an annual outing and dinner for the staff of a printing works or the printers on a newspaper." If I can't get anyone else to throw a wayzgoose this year -- and I know more than a few folks in publishing, still -- I may have to host one myself... FWIW, I'm trying to get mine done. I guess I should since I suggested the topic I should finish it. . When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

FWIW, I'm trying to get mine done. I guess I should since I suggested the topic I should finish it. . And again, thank you for figuring out the numbers-in-title thing. I left a message with tech support (couldn't on the January 2016 issues post because, well, that post gets misdirected). I detailed the workaround and suggested they put a banner on the blog page. In short, I spoon-fed a course of action to them. As of this writing, no response. Amigo, you are one of the two heroes whose tests essentially saved this symposium. Take as much time as you want. And again, thank you for figuring out the numbers-in-title thing. In short, I spoon-fed a course of action to them. As of this writing, no response. left a message with tech support Via email or phone, I got a load of BS by phone Misdirected Posts and Customer Service were you able to withstand the “service” grilling? SexySixties told me they were working on the problem on that post too. spoon-fed a course of action to them You takin any bets on whether they act or spit up the spoon? I think I was able a while ago to post the situation to the Support Blog. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
