Surfing with Sharks
Surfing with Sharks This month has posed some interesting challenges with getting my private practice up and running. With losing my group healthcare policy at the end of the month, one of these challenges has been researching and selecting an affordable health insurance coverage policy. As part of this process, I made an inquiry to the federal health insurance "marketplace" and that was a big mistake. Essentially, what they do is collect your contact information and dissiminate it to tons of contracting brokers who bombard you with a crapload of calls every single day. I've taken to not answering these calls because some of these agents are like greedy used car salesmen and can be downright rude. On a brighter note, I am slowly rebuilding my clientele which I lost from my previous employment. The bad news is until I receive approval for all of the insurance panels, I have had to see these pro bono. My savings is dwindling. I am hoping that I can get on the panels soon so I can start earning a paycheck. Some days I feel like I am surfing the monster wave and all around me are sharks which at any moment, I could lose my balance and fall. I am continuing to amp up my runs and am averaging about 35 miles a week. That and doing yoga every day is helping me to stay grounded. And the sex.. lots of it. |
