Summer Snowball
Summer Snowball Here is a poem I wrote over a year ago, about enjoying a snowball with a friend during a hot summer evening. Sometimes doing simple things like having a snowball or a milkshake can be as enjoyable as going to the movies or a concert. So the next time you are with a good friend and you are having a cup of coffee or maybe a snowball, just remember that its the little things that are as important (if not more) as doing the big and extravagant things. Summer Snowball During one hot summer weekend I enjoyed a snowball with a special friend What better way to overcome the heat Then to savor the sweetness of this delicious treat There were many flavors to choose from It was years since she last had one The pure white fluffy ice just flowed As chocolate and spearmint colored the snow As we sat eating these cold tasty mounds We talked and reflected on childhood events Such as baseball cards and bicycles with banana seats Combined together creating motorized sounds We saw the hazy moon Was it a full moon? What is a blue moon? As Norah Jones sang “Shoot the Moon” Never thought a snowball could be such fun She in her sundress of cream, green and yellow As I drove home smiling Still tasting her kisses of spearmint and marshmallow |
