 I try to smile and make eye contact, be friendly, but still nothing. maybe one or two of the guys will stop and chat about sports for second, but that doesn't last very long, usually

 Hmmmm... Maybe you're sending out the wrong body language vibes when you go to the bar alone? When you're there watching a game, use commercial breaks as an opportunity to check out the guys in the room. If you see someone you like, smile and make some eye contact. Don't cross your arms in front of your body -- that's a sign that says "do not approach". If you aren't smiling or making eye contact, guys will assume you're not interested.
