winds .. meds.. smiles...

winds .. meds.. smiles... If you live in Lethbridge, you probably walk bent over, from walking into the wind. You're used to having pebbles and bits of garbage hit your face. Every one tends to walk on the side of the street that is sheltered from the wind. People tend to park their cars so that they face into the wind.. Thusly, the car doors don't get wrecked by the wind. Businesses have their front door on the east side of the building if at all possible. Very few businesses want their doors openning out to the west, because the west is the direction most of our wind comes from. People that get headaches, allergies, and migraines, tend to get them just before the wind starts, or during the windy days.. of which there are many here.. Wind is a characteristic of this city.. It brings chinooks, nice warming temperatures in the winter.. and lovely cool storms in the summer... Altho.. the storm situation is getting a bit carried away.... So.. if you say something to someone..and they say.. eh?? Probably the wind took your voice away.. It's normal.. Wind gusts that hit the house and cause it to shake...totally normal here.. Winds that you can hardly walk in...totally normal here.. I think we have built our lives around the wind ...totally normal for us .. And don't think of going somewhere without a brush or a comb..at any time of year... Umbrellas are relatively un used here...why?.. because the wind blows your umbrella away and you get rained on anyways.. We have a love/hate relationship with the wind... Still recovering from my migraines that hit me just before the wind started blowing this last time. Met a lovely little lady in shoppers...She was full of compliments for me... as in.." That's a nice shirt.. You look nice.. you have a nice smile...on and on.. Turns out.. she also had migraines these last few days.. She was a construction worker.. a pint sized one...Getting her pain meds from Shoppers. So we exchanged names and ages..lol.. and when she found out I was 59.. she went on and on about how I look so much younger.. which led into an animated converstation about which creams are the best to use to stay younger looking..lol She made my day so much better.. I suggest everyone say Hi to someone new today.. You never know.. you might have a much better day because of it..  Looking forward to a good year ahead!! Stars_light4U |

You don't look 59!! I haven't needed a brush or comb for over 40 years.  I am always amazed we get a 100/110km wind and we just lean forward a bit more when we walk, but in other parts of our country, they get an 80km wind and it uproots trees.

My migraines will often start right before a windy day or when the barometric pressure changes. Never ignore those who care for you you will have lost diamonds while you were collecting stones
