Paraskevidekatriaphobia  Wow...I really wanted to post this yesterday but I was busy, but I will post it today. Yesterday was Friday the 13th and I was wondering how many people were truly afraid. Paraskevidekatriaphobia means the fear of Friday the 13th ....The term is based on the Greek words paraskevi (Friday) and dekatria (thirteen) with -phobia as a suffix to indicate (fear). Folklore states, “The superstition surrounding this day may have arisen in the Middle Ages, originating from the story of Jesus last supper and crucifixion in which there were 13 individuals present in the Upper Room on the 13th of Nisan Maundy Thursday, the night before his death on Good Friday. While there is evidence of both Friday and the number 13 being considered unlucky, there is no record of the two items being referred to as especially unlucky in conjunction before the 19th “ (quoted from Wikipedia). There is also anecdotal evidence that accidents and injuries increase during Friday the 13th. My question to the bloggers and readers is....How was your day yesterday, Friday the 13th ? Any injuries or accidents? Did the movie “Friday the 13th “ add to the fear of this day? My day was good. I made oven roasted chicken with Quinoa and corn. No problems with no injuries or accidents! My day went ok funny. I own a black cat so I am good on any Friday the 13th. At work everyone except one person would work that day! Go figure. Sounds like a great meal there. yummy hugs V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm
